Vern Smith
Vern Smith thought he lived in the part of Toronto known as Cabbagetown until some old guy at the local coffee shop set him right. As it turns out, his current address is in the notorious St. Jamestown District.

A copy editor forCanadian Screenwriter Magazine, Smith has worked as a crime and politics reporter for a number of newspapers and magazines. Among others, his work has appeared in The Detroit Free Press, This Magazine, and a handful of anthologies includingIced: The New Noir Anthology of Cold, Hard Fiction and Hard Boiled Love, both from Insomniac Press. He is the author of a collection of short stories called Glue for Breakfast and is also the editor of a newly launched Western fiction zine, Italian style, called Kerosene Road. A native of Windsor, Ontario, Smith is a student of the Detroit pulp scene.
