In the game of noir fiction Peter Sellers is Hoyle, having published dozens of stories in every major mystery magazine from Ellery Queen to Hardboiled and in numerous crime and dark fantasy anthologies in both Canada and the United States. Thirteen of his darkest and most bizarre works are collected in the book Whistling Past the Graveyard, published in 1999 by Mosaic Press. He founded the acclaimed, six volume Cold Bloodseries of anthologies and co-edited the Iced and Hard Boiled Love anthologies of Canadian noir fiction from Insomniac Press. He is a four-time finalist for the Crime Writers of Canada's Arthur Ellis Award. His short story "Avenging Miriam" was a finalist for the Short Mystery Fiction Society's Derringer Award, and winner of the Ellery Queen Readers' Award as the most popular story published in that magazine during 2001. In 1992, Peter was co-winner of the Crime Writers of Canada's prestigious Derrick Murdoch Award.
